An internship at DocPoint is suitable for students from many different fields. The important thing is an interest in creative documentary films and international art and cultural cooperation, as well as a desire to develop one’s own skills. We require the applicant to have relevant experience and/or education. Language requirements can be found in the task-specific descriptions.
The next DocPoint — Helsinki Documentary Film Festival will take place from February 3 to 8, 2026. DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival is one of the largest documentary festivals in the Nordic countries and the only festival solely dedicated to documentary films in Finland. You get to work with an international, enthusiastic and encouraging team and learn new things. The internship is located in Helsinki. Unfortunately, the festival office is not accessible.

There are two open trainee positions for DocPoint — Helsinki Documentary Film Festival 2026 as follows:
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
As a Production Assistant, you will work in versatile tasks related to festival production. You will be involved in the production of Q&A events. The tasks also include collecting data and materials, maintaining and archiving files, communicating with different parties, and various production tasks. In addition, the Production Assistant helps with various everyday tasks in the office. The job requires strong knowledge of the English language. Versatile other language skills are considered as an advantage.
Type: 8.12.2025-13.2.2026, fixed-term and full-time
Salary: gross 1.430,00 €/ month
We consider it an advantage if the intern has the opportunity to receive subsidy from the educational institution.
COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT
The Communications Assistant works as a close part of the festival’s communications team. The job description includes versatile tasks related to the festival’s communications. The Communication Assistant participates in producing content for websites, social media channels and internal databases. In addition, they participate in the proofreading of communications materials, sending press releases, and managing film credit, image and promo materials. During the festival, they participate in daily communications. The intern is expected to have strong visual and written skills, as well as knowledge of social media. Knowledge of WordPress is an advantage. The job requires strong knowledge of English and Finnish languages. Versatile other language skills are considered an advantage.

Salary: gross 1.430,00 € / month
